cRRescendo
Combined Rational and Renewable Energy Strategies in Cities, for Existing and New Dwellings to ensure Optimal quality of lifecRRescendo aims to integrate a major share of sustainability into thousands of homes and their energy infrastructures. This CONCERTO project demonstrates its possibility and feasibility, but also most importantly demonstrates how best to meet the citizens’ wishes of living in comfortable energy efficient homes in a healthy and clean environment. As a European project it essentially aims to realise modern, comfortable, healthy, and energy efficient homes in the metropolitian areas of Almere in the Netherlands, Milton Keynes in United Kingdom, Viladecans in Spain, and Ajaccio in France, the medieval capital of the isle of Corsica.
At the very heart of the cRRescendo project’s objectives is a focus on ways to integrate measures for an increase in the use of renewable energy sources (RES) with measures for energy efficiency (EE). This aim manifests itself through a number of activities at the community level, which helps contribute to the projects core objectives. Each community participating in the cRRescendo project implements an integrated strategy towards achieving an increase in the use of renewable energy sources (RES) employing numerous techniques of poly-generation, specific innovation, and technology.
The project started in August 2005 and will end in July 2012.
