PIME'S
CONCERTO communities towards optimal thermal and electrical efficiency of buildings and districts, based on MICROGRIDS
The project PIME’S comprises the Salburua community in Vitoria (Spain), the Dale community in Sandnes (Norway) and Szentendre (Hungary).
Main activities of PIME’S are research and technological development (RTD), demonstration and dissemination in order to maximise the effect of the measures undertaken. PIME’S practical goals are the implementation of large scale solar thermal and associated heat storage, the application of intelligent energy management through microgrids and the development of new ESCO (Energy Service Company) models by increasing ownership of the inhabitants.
Within the three pilot communities, construction of new housing, offices and retrofitting of older buildings will take place. Even though the climatically challenges in the three towns differ greatly, they are facing common challenges regarding e.g. the reduction of the energy needs. The exchange of knowledge and experiences between the scientific partners and the pilot communities will help them to reach these goals and to profit from each other.
The project started in December 2009 and will end in November 2014.
