SOLUTION
The project SOLUTION is made up of four involved communities: Cernier (Switzerland), Hartberg (Austria), Hvar (Croatia) and Lapua (Finland) and of an observer community: Preddvor (Slovenia).
The main objectives of SOLUTION are the development of a replicable model of energy sustainability by 2015 and thereby the reduction of CO2 emissions as well as the mobilisation of private and public resources for the implementation. The project partners want to demonstrate that sustainable solutions in the field of energy respond to the economic, environmental and social needs of communities.
The project’s activities comprise various measures that range from research and development activities in the area of energy efficiency and consumer behaviour and pilot projects within the involved communities to dissemination and training / knowledge transfer activities.
Final aims of the project are a recognition of the growth potential in the renewable energy field and contributing to the reduction of energy use costs and dependence.
SOLUTION started in November 2009 and will end in October 2014.
